Jesus experienced hurt and disappointment unlike any individual, he was rejected in every way, physically and verbally abused, ridiculed, lied upon, and mocked. Can you imagine His pain? He came to the earth for one reason, his burning love individually for mankind, to die for our sins so we can be in relationship with our heavenly Father. Even as he hung on the cross, he remained humble and endured the purpose of His coming. At the worst point of Jesus life, he took the time to acknowledge a dying thief beside him to bring him to salvation. Isn’t it funny how the Jews waiting on their Messiah did not recognize him, but the thief on the cross did? I believe the thief represents mankind’s helplessness to save themselves from a dying world and realizing that Jesus is the only way. The thief simply said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” and Jesus immediately said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:42-43 NIV). We have the same assurance from Christ today in our hurt and disappointment. The AMPC version puts it this way, “for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor [give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [[I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor [let [you] down ([relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” (Hebrews 13:5). Jesus didn’t disappoint a criminal on the cross and neither will he disappointment you. What you are experiencing is temporary God is working on your behalf. You have to believe with your entire being the Father loves you and will take care of every situation. God’s love for you is your anchor. Jesus came so that you would have LIFE and have it in abundance. Walk in his promises and experience the Lord’s goodness in your life
…I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.
