…all our righteousness are as filthy rags Isaiah 64:6 KJV
God wasn't trying to offend us when he said our righteousness are as filthy rags. He was actually trying to spare us of thinking we can work our way into salvation and a relationship with him. Listen, God is clear in his word, “no one comes to Father except through Me, I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) There is only one way! Jesus, out of love carried sin and everything on his body in opposition to how God desires us to live, punished and abolished it once and for all. We can now have a personal relationship with God and live a triumphant life. Jesus fulfilled the law which are dead works. So why are we trying to fulfill the law. Our response is to believe in the finished works of Jesus Christ. How you live your life from there will continue to blossom day by day. The things you do for God will be out of the love you have for him as he opens our heart to see more of his love. It’s not complicated as the world tries to make it, but it came at a high price. He has deemed us worthy of it. We are the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. That is a stance no one can ever take from a child of the only true God.
…How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God Hebrews 9:14 KJV
