I was listening to a message from Pastor Joseph Prince. He was speaking about the Holy Communion and why it’s so important to understand the true meaning of Jesus sacrifice for healing. He explained that in the old covenant animals were sacrificed for the sins of the people by the priest and went into detail about how the animals were killed, by cutting the animal through the vein so they would die instantly. But then he went on to mention that Jesus is our atoning one-time sacrifice so it’s no longer necessary to sacrifice animals for mankind’s sins. But here’s that part that messed me up. He said the animals were brought to the priest to be sacrificed right? But Jesus before he was sacrificed on the cross was beaten, whipped, humiliated, rejected, spat on, stripped naked and if that was not enough a crown of thorns was literally crushed to his head. What’s my point? As Pastor Prince explained the animals didn’t experience being beaten before being sacrificed, but Jesus the Son of God, the perfect sacrifice was brutality beaten. Do you know why he held off angels, and all heaven and earth from intervening. Because of YOU. Everything that he endured was for your wellbeing, by the stripes that were placed on his back we are healed he did that for you and me so we can walk free and reign in this life from every circumstance. What Christ did for us has great significance and when we see His great love it allows us to walk with a victor mentality. This is what the enemy fights you for he doesn’t want you to know you are the righteousness of God, He doesn’t want you to know the details of what God has already accomplished on the cross for you. But he is already defeated and taking his last gasping breath to try to deceive as many as possible before Jesus returns. Don’t allow Him to make you think you are not loved and cared for you are deeply loved and God desires to have a personal relationship with you. Jesus, sacrifice made you righteous it’s a free gift, receive it. He went to great lengths to give it to you.
