Have you ever struggled with a situation, an addiction, or a bad habit that keeps pulling you back? Maybe you've become frustrated because no matter how hard you try, you find yourself falling into the same pattern again and again.
The Bible tells us, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Yet when you're battling with something over and over, those words can be difficult to truly believe. You may hear them with your ears, but it's often hard for them to penetrate your heart.
I want you to think about something. Jesus knew about that sin, that mistake, that addiction, or that habit you keep struggling with long before He ever went to the cross. Because of His great love for you, He willingly chose to carry that very issue in His own body so that you could be set free—not only from its power, but also from its condemnation.
The Father chose to send His Son because of His love for you. He sent Jesus knowing every sin you would commit, every mistake you would make, every addiction you would battle, and every failure you would experience. None of it surprised Him. Yet Jesus still chose the cross, and the Father still chose to give His Son for you.
Why? Because every one of those sins would be placed upon Jesus and judged by God once and for all. He took your judgment so that you would never have to. That is why there is no condemnation left for those who belong to Christ.
If that is not the greatest expression of love, what is? Jesus forgave you before you ever sinned against Him. He knew every failure in advance, yet He still endured the mocking, the rejection, the scourging, the nails, and the cross because His love for you was greater than your sin.
He went through all of that so you would not have to carry the weight of your guilt, your shame, or your condemnation. He came to remove the stains of sin and the burdens that the struggles of life leave behind.
Long before you were ever created, God made the decision to love you. Jesus made the choice to leave heaven, come to earth, and lay down His life for that sin, that addiction, that mistake, and every other failure you would ever face.
If you are loved that deeply, then you have every reason to forgive yourself, receive His forgiveness, and move forward. Rest in His grace. Bask in His love. You are fully known, completely forgiven, and deeply loved—far more than you could ever imagine.
