Many are familiar with the hymn, “Yes, Jesus Loves Me.” It speaks of God's love for mankind, which is the center of the Word of God. It is what God wants us to focus on most of all.
But if we are honest, because of life’s issues, many times we focus on the problems and not the love of God. Some have experienced terrible situations and are just trying to manage through life. But God wants us to reign in life. The only way we can be successful in that is to keep our minds on God, otherwise it will open the gateway for the accuser to heap negative, defeating, and judgmental thoughts into our minds. This is what Scripture means when it says that the “weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Our warfare is to constantly believe and remind ourselves that we are loved by Almighty God—that He protects, provides, and cares for every detail of our lives. The Word of God instructs us to “keep ourselves in the love of God” (Jude 1:21).
We must remind ourselves of God's love through His Word and promises daily; without it, we will sink into doubt. Our anchor of hope is Jesus and the love He displayed on the cross for us, so that we are now in perfect relationship with the Father. His love is inexhaustible and can never be fully explained because of how perfect and limitless it is.
Let’s train our minds so that in every negative situation our reply is, “I know God loves me and will work all things out for my good.”
